Competencies Brought to Life


A large company had earlier introduced behavioural competencies as part of their annual performance review process. The comprehensive dictionary was available to staff and leaders on-line. Most managers wanted to be more comfortable assessing staff using the competencies, or in making connections between generic descriptions and their actual work.

Jill worked with teams in diverse business lines to re-write competency descriptions in language particular to their work. She facilitated working sessions to develop real-life examples of competencies at various levels of proficiency, and then trained managers to discuss behaviours as part of performance reviews.
